It was a fabulous sunny day, a perfect Sunday!
The Zani’s crew of awesome Volunteers settled down in our usual spot in front of super amazing and dog friendly Tractor Supply Co. in Monroe Township NJ.
We had a GREAT group of very sweet and lovable dogs with us today!

RUDY

Age:  1 year

Size: Med/Large (60lbs)

Socialization: People/Dogs/Cats

First, fresh off the plane from AZERBAIJAN we have Rudy. He just flew in yesterday. We imagine Rudy is a St. Bernard and Collie (maybe Border Collie?) mix.
What a cool dog!
Rudy’s body proportions are so extreme that it is comical. A normal sized dog body is crowned by a suitcase sized giant noggin. Rudy is a big guy but oh did he want to just get love and sit on laps. We also found out that Rudy knows his basic obedience commands. So that’s pretty cool!

Apply for Rudy today, this  fluffy fella WILL NOT last long. He is just a dream boat.

MAC

Age:  1 year

Size: Med/Large (60lbs)

Socialization: People/Dogs/Cats

I am just head over heels in love with Mac. Mac is a rescue from Puerto Rico where he was found wandering the streets. The good samaritan dropped him off at a vet’s office where he sat in a cage. We flew Mac in a week or so ago and he has been winning over hearts and souls ever since.

Mac is blind. Since we are not sure of his back story, we do not know why. But he gets around great. His sense of smell is SO sharp that he can detect a chicken sandwich from about a football field away. But what is very endearing about Mac is how tactile he is. He interacts and learns about the world around him by touch. He leans and brushes up agains people, touches them with his paws and is a level:expert hugger. He also mouths at EVERYTHING. He will put hands, feet, arms, chairs, bottles, really anything near by in his mouth but ever so very VERY gently. I think he is just feeling to figure out what it is.

Because of his special needs, we feel that a home with another dog to be his seeing eyes and a yard without too many stairs might be his best choice.

BAKU

Age:  1 year

Size: Med/Tall & Skinny (50lbs)

Socialization: People/Dogs

Baku is named after the city where he is from. Another rescue from AZERBAIJAN, Baku is a sweetie.

Baku is very very shy. He is kind of learning everything anew. It seems that he is not familiar with a lot of things that are regular to us, like cars, cameras, shopping carts, any strange noises. But once he got used to the Volunteers that were hanging out with him that day, he was just so sweet. He enjoyed being pet and is really a very thoughtful dog.

Probably weird to say this about a boy, but he is a leggy beauty! tall and lean he resembles a Saluki or some sort of middle eastern sight hound. His most striking feature BY FAR are his sharp and bright eyes.

Oro

Age:  1 year

Size: Medium

Socialization: People/Dogs

Oro comes to us from Puerto Rico and enjoys talking to people in Spanish. He is a high energy  and a bit high strung dog who will run and play with you all day. His big ole snout is so super smushy and kissable that it is difficult to resist booping him constantly.

Oro needs an experienced and patient person, probably in a rural setting to help him acclimate to the life in the USA.

ROSS

Age:  1 year

Size: Small/Medium

Socialization: People/Dogs

Ross is yet ANOTHER one of our rescues from Baku, AZERBAIJAN. He and his sister Monica were found by a rescue group there after their mother was killed. But now Ross is a sweet and well adjusted boy.

What’s funny about Ross is that he kind of looks like both a Lab and a Jack Russel terrier. It’s even hard to tell what he is from some angles but it is SUPER easy to tell that he is a cutie!

He enjoys lap sitting and would love a home with another doggie to play with.

HONORABLE MENTION: MONICA

Monica is Ross’s sister (well duh!)

Today a family came ALLLLL the way from Staten Island to check her out. It was so heart warming how well they all got along!  Later that day, they passed their home check and Monica is officially ADOPTED!

We wish you the best possible life, little Monica!
